Well, I am happy to say that 4th grade has survived the first 5 1/2 days of school! Now that binders are complete and we are getting further into a classroom routine, your student can go full steam ahead. Before we move forward, though, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and my teaching history. I am a graduate of Salisbury State University and this year will mark my thirteenth year as a full-time classroom teacher. I have taught in Louisiana, the Gulf Coast of Florida, and most recently, seven years at St. John School, Westminster. This will be my fifth year teaching fourth grade and I am very excited! My husband and I have three children, a rising college junior who is a 2015 Calvert Hall graduate, a Bridgewater College freshman daughter, and a Westminster High School junior daughter. We also have two dogs and a cat. We are a very active family and we prefer the outdoors versus the indoors. With my love of the outdoors, I have always taught my students that some of God's most beautiful creations are found there and that it is our job to help keep those wonderful creations alive and well. I cannot tell you how excited I am to be able to teach your child/student and to be a part of the IHM community. This website will enable you to view homework, upcoming activities in the classroom and other school activities. However, I will ask that you use the planner vigilantly in order to help your child/student become more responsible for their homework and upcoming exams or activities. I will discuss this further at the back to school night. Also, please refer to the IHM school website ihmschoolmd.org to keep fully abreast of the school's activities and calendar changes.
